Our Teachers
Susan Fried
Susan is the owner of Budding Buddhas Children’s Yoga and has been practicing for over 15 years. Prior to teaching yoga, Susan was a Casting Director in film and television. She worked with children on dozens of projects and taught them how to relax before their audition, how to be in the moment and confident when filming, and how to embrace self-esteem and joy. Susan believes these lessons can apply to all children.
Susan feels that children of all ages can understand the mind/body connection and she integrates this into her Budding Buddhas Yoga & Mindfulness programs. She empowers students to take yoga techniques off the mat and into their everyday lives.
Susan received her children’s yoga teaching certification through Karma Kids Yoga in New York City. She also completed a 200 hr. adult teaching certificate at Yoga Haven in Scarsdale, NY. Susan’s programs enrich children’s lives in ways she never thought imaginable.
Kira Nichols
Kira Nichols has spent the last 8 years taking care of children as a nanny. She started implementing some of the yogic philosophy’s she was learning practicing yoga. A lesson in mindfulness and learning to take that extra breath before reacting.
Kira earned her 200hr teacher training at Tovami yoga. She’s excited to spread her love and knowledge of yoga to students of all ages.
Michelle Ganpat
Having completed the bulk of her training in Rishkesh (India’s Yoga Capitol where The Ganges springs from The Himalayas), Michelle earned the preeminent RYT-500 designation from Yoga Alliance International.
As a life-long athlete, her practice envelopes an esteemed appreciation for the healing benefits of yoga (Ayurveda). With over 10 years of experience as a counselor, coach, and mentor to children and young adults across Westchester County, New York, Michelle is excited to share with and learn from all of her students of all ages.
Mariah Nicols

Mariah Nichols grew up in a household full of children. Always busy always noisy. Her life continued to be very busy and noisy throughout adulthood. She felt drawn to calmness and serenity and found that through yoga and mediation. Mariah plants the seeds of mindfulness and meditation in all of her classes, She received her 200-hr. yoga teacher training from Sage and the flying buddha. She also holds certifications in children’s yoga and meditation from Budding Buddhas Kids Yoga.
Lindsay Fletcher
Lindsay Fletcher has always been passionate about health and wellness. She discovered yoga in 2005 and quickly fell in love with the practice. She obtained her 200 hour yoga teacher certification from Yoga Effects in Manhattan in 2008 and has been teaching ever since.
In 2011 Lindsay obtained her Master's in Education from Hunter College. As a teacher, Lindsay loved incorporating yoga into the classroom and loved watching the little yogis blossom as they found their balance in tree pose. In 2018, she received her CYT from Karma Kids and fell in love with sharing yoga with children of all ages. Lindsay loves that moment when a big smile comes across a child's face when they master a pose they have been working towards and say "I did it!"
Lindsay lives in Westchester with her husband and two children. When she is not on the mat, she can be found making a mess in the kitchen with her kids baking healthy treats.
Katie Feinstein
Katie Feinstein is a yoga teacher and personal trainer. With her athletic background and experience, she creates a fun and exciting environment to develop strength, flexibility and an overall healthy lifestyle. She has a passion for working with people of all ages, from 3 up to 80 years old. Her love of music and passion for mindful movement are incorporatedin all she does – whether it be teaching yoga, volunteering in Haiti, boogying to live music, kayaking and hiking – she enjoys being amongst like minded people, friends, and family.
